“Música sertaneja” is the label for non-urban Brazilian music, or, more correctly, Brazilian music made far from the bigger Brazilian urban centers, sounding like the very life away from these bigger urban centers: bucolical, clean, tranquil – or, in more objective terms, music that is simple, naïf, devoid of much melodic or harmonic sophistication, and more natural, i.e., acoustic.
