Until August 13th, non-Brazilians temporarily resident in Brazil, or whose permanent residence is overseas, can enroll their projects on contemporary Brazilian literature and literary criticism within Itaú Cultural´s Rumos Literatura program. Itaú Cultural was created in 1997 and has accumulated approximately 20,000 projects in a range of areas such as Cinema and Video, Music, Dance, and Education. For the first time it is allowing non-Brazilians to enroll in one of its programs. Enrollments are open until August 13th for the 2010-2011 Rumos Literatura program, which allows those interested to produce texts reflecting upon contemporary Brazilian literature and literary criticism. What is new this year is that non-Brazilians – either those temporarily resident in Brazil or those whose permanent residence is overseas, can take part. The aim of the program is to help develop people's potential by enabling those interested in literature to extend their network of intellectual and professional contacts and subsequently launch and disseminate a publication that includes their authorial output. By including non-Brazilians, this edition of Rumos Literatura is creating a channel for interaction with another of the institution´s literary activities, the Itaú Cultural Connections program for Mapping Brazilian Literature abroad (Conexões Itaú Cultural – Mapeamento da Literatura Brasileira no Exterior). There is more information on www.conexoesitaucultural.org.br Projects will be selected by autonomous commissions made up of specialists in the several areas plus one representative from within Itaú Cultural. The results will be published in the second half of 2010. In all cases the results will be published in the press and on the institution´s website www.itaucultural.org.br/rumos, where you can find the complete call for works, the prize-giving structure, and the free enrollment procedure. This is the general prize-giving structure for Rumos Literatura: • A meeting in São Paulo/SP (Brazil) in late 2010 to begin working on the projects; • 20 titles including books, CDs and DVDs; • The candidate´s short CV and his or her chosen project will be published on the Itaú Cultural website; • Exclusive participation in the Online Laboratory in Literature and Criticism, from March to October 2011, under the supervision of a renowned tutor from the area, in order to work on the selected projects, with the right to a Certificate of Participation. This is an internet-mediated participation; • Payment of monthly financial support, during the laboratory period, to the gross value of R$1,100.00 (one thousand, one hundred Reals) for Brazilians and US$750.00 (seven hundred and fifty dollars) for non-Brazilians; • Payment of the gross value of R$2,200.00 (two thousand, two hundred Reals) in the case of Brazilians and US$1,250.00 (one thousand, two hundred and fifty Dollars) for non-Brazilians for licensing the copyright of the completed, approved work; • Publication of the completed, approved work in a book edited by Itaú Cultural; • Ten copies of the book to be published by Itaú Cultural; • Attendance at the 2nd International Literature Directions Seminar - II Seminário Internacional Rumos Literatura, to be held in São Paulo/SP (Brazil), in late 2011.

Programa de apoio à pesquisa,o Rumos Literatura abre inscrições também para estrangeiros
Até dia 13 de agosto, estrangeiros com residência fixa no exterior ou temporária no Brasil podem inscrever projetos sobre literatura e crítica literária brasileira contemporâneas no programa Rumos Literatura 2010-2011. Conheça o edital no site www.itaucultural.org.br/rumos .
Criado em 1997 e contando com cerca de 20 mil projetos inscritos nas mais diversas áreas da cultura, como Cinema e Vídeo, Música, Dança, Educação, pela primeira vez o Itaú Cultural abre inscrições para cidadãos estrangeiros em um de seus programas. Até 13 de agosto estão abertas as inscrições, gratuitas, do programa de estímulo dedicado aos interessados em desenvolver textos reflexivos sobre a literatura e a crítica literária brasileira contemporâneas. A inscrição de estrangeiros – residentes temporariamente no Brasil e/ou com moradia fixa em outros países – abre também um canal de interação com outra atividade literária da instituição, o Conexões Itaú Cultural – Mapeamento da Literatura Brasileira no Exterior (www.conexoesitaucultural.org.br).
Premiação:
• Encontro em São Paulo/SP (Brasil) no final de 2010 para dar início às atividades de desenvolvimento dos projetos selecionados; • 20 títulos entre livros, CDs e DVDs; • Divulgação do currículo resumido e do projeto contemplado no site do Itaú Cultural; • Participação exclusiva no Laboratório Online de Literatura e Crítica (pela internet), de março a outubro de 2011, sob mediação de um orientador de notório saber na área, para o desenvolvimento dos projetos selecionados, com direito a Certificado de Participação; • Pagamento de apoio financeiro mensal, durante o período do laboratório, no valor bruto de R$1.100,00 (um mil e cem reais) para os brasileiros e US$750,00 (setecentos e cinquenta dólares) para os estrangeiros; • Pagamento do valor bruto de R$2.200,00 (dois mil e duzentos reais) aos brasileiros e US$1.250,00 (um mil, duzentos e cinquenta dólares) aos estrangeiros pelo licenciamento dos direitos autorais do trabalho concluído e aprovado; • Publicação do trabalho concluído e aprovado em livro editado pelo Itaú Cultural; • Dez exemplares do livro a ser publicado pelo Itaú Cultural; • Presença no II Seminário Internacional Rumos Literatura, em São Paulo/SP (Brasil), no final de 2011, para o lançamento da publicação e término das atividades.
