Keynote Speaker: H.E. RUBENS BARBOSA Former Ambassador of Brazil to the United States President of the consulting firm Rubens Barbosa & Associados Ltda. Ambassador Rubens Barbosa was the Brazilian Ambassador to the United States between June 1999 and March 2004. Before his appointment to the United States, he held a variety of posts in government and foreign affairs, including the Secretary for International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy; Brazilian Permanent Representative to the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI); Undersecretary-General for Regional Integration, Economic Affairs and Foreign Trade at the Ministry of External Relations; and Coordinator of the Brazilian Section for Mercosul-Southern Cone Common Market. He holds a master's degree in economics and political science from the London School of Economics, and is the author of several articles and books on foreign and economic policy.
