Robert Eugene DiPaolo was born and raised in the heartland of Ohio. Eschewing his mid-western roots, DiPaolo headed for Dallas, Texas, to pursue a graduate degree in theology. After receiving his masters, he made his way to Chapel Hill to pursue a degree in law from the University of North Carolina. After graduating from UNC Law, he embarked on a career as a corporate lawyer in New York City. For nearly a decade he specialized in mergers & acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, joint-ventures and hedge fund related transactions. His responsibilities included many Latin American-based transactions, including several in Brazil. In 2004, captivated by Brazil from his many visits there and eager for a new challenge, DiPaolo opened a professional consultancy, The Fidelis Group, LLC and an affiliated company in São Paulo, Brazil, The Fidelis Group do Brasil Consultoria, Ltda. He currently serves as managing director of The Fidelis Group, providing business and legal advice to clients in the US and Brazil, and assisting clients doing or planning to do business in Brazil.
